in little women, you will meet the march sisters, meg, jo, beth & amy who live with their mother, marmee, and their maid hannah, during the civil war. the first half of the novel takes place while their father is away, serving in the war. each sister has a distinct personality, a reader, an artist, a musician, the quiet one. you will get to know this family in touching little stories of their daily life. each chapter seems to set up a moral lesson for the reader to learn. we also meet a wonderful set of neighbors, mr. laurence and his nephew "laurie" who quickly find a place as part of the march family.

the second half of the novel, focuses on the girls as they leave their childhood and begin their journey into adult life. lessons of friendship, family, and love are covered as we join the characters through the ups and downs of life, good times and bad. it seems that louisa may alcott used her own family as the basis for the stories in little women, basing the character jo on herself. it is amazing how though the book was written in the late 1800s, so many things about humans remain the same. the foundations of life that are important in friendships, family & love dont change through time, as alcott has shared with us. this is a book that young and old can read and appreciate.

my favorite book my favorite book is wrote by antoine de saint-exupery. i still remember the first time i read the book, i was like in a fantastic world. the little prince is a boy who has an angelical heart, his life is also very simple-a small planet which is full of flowers and monkey bread tree seedlings. the little prince is always depressed, and when he was sad, he would sit on a chair and see the sunset. he even see forty-three times sunset in a day to make himself feel better. his life turned to a new appearance when a beautiful rose came out. she is a flower with proud, when her lie was exposed by the little prince, she felt embarrassed. the small misunderstanding between them made the little prince determined to leave the planet he lived on. on his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. from these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the sahara, on the earth.

the protagonist of this book heidi, she is a kind heart, naive little girl. under the influence of her sincere feelings, she experienced vicissitudes of life, mood depression, personality withdrawn grandpa rekindled the light of life; it is in her love and help, the weak and sickly paralyzed girl clara summoned up the courage to live, firm confidence to overcome the disease, and finally stand up again; it was in her care that peter's old lady gained much joy and pleasure. she is a helpful, innocent and lively child.

heidi is fascinated by the beautiful scenery, pleading for the naughty sheep, crying for the blind grandmother. she seems to be the incarnation of love, the angel of love, where she goes, where is full of light and hope. her purity of heart cleanses people.

i'm gonna get the best out of heidi. heidi, in spite of her young age, had a very moving charm. i saw heidi's love of life. she was so proactive about everything, unlike me, who was so coy. her straightforward character is also worth me to learn, i should be as determined as heidi, straightforward character. don't be hesitant and indecisive.

after reading this famous book, i was deeply touched. is ah! life should be full of love, love can overcome loneliness, love can defeat the disease, love will bring us happiness. "heidi" is really a good book to let people know how to love life, love nature, care for others!

i am convinced that few books are as good as this one. to be honest, i hadnsquo;t maintained that this book would appeal me before i read it. however, i was absorbed in the book from the first chapter to the last one. why this book has appealed to me that much? i asked myself. this book is not my type of reading for only romantic books could draw my attention successfully. then i came into a conclusion that it is the friendship and familyship fascinated me.

to the world you are one person, but to the person who loves you, you are the world. amir was hassansquo;s world. amirsquo;s name had been the first word hassan spoke. hassan threatened brutal assef for the sake of amir. hassan never failed to run the kite to please amir. hassan sacrificed himself for amirsquo;s house. these are more than a friend would do. only those who loves you so much could challenge himself to do what hassan did to amir.to hassan, amir was not only a mere friend but a brother. he loved amir more than anything else. even after amir betrayed him, he still told his son proudlyagan amir is my best friend.maybe for hassan for you, a thousand times over has another meaning, which is not just kite running for amir but he will do anything for amir.

if hassan could be described as an angel, then amir was just a person. i did hate amir for he watched hassan be raped and did nothing, for he made hassan leave his born-place, for he aimed hassan with fruit(even though he actually tried to make himself get punished). amir didnsquo;t deserve what hassan did to him. i thought his meanness caused hassansquo;s tragedy. but after i finished the book, i realized it is not hassansquo;s tragedy, it is amirsquo;s. for what he had done to hassan, he had led a live with regret and suffered endless sleepless nights. his going back to afghanistan is not only a journey physically but a journey to atonement. hassansquo;s son, his nephew saved, amirsquo;s sin was finally washed. like the life of circle, amir ran kite for his miserable nephew.as hassan did to him, he said for you , a thousand times over to sohrab.though the book doesnsquo;t give us an accurate ending whether sohrab came into life again. i am sure love can cure everything. only when sohrab lives a happy life as hassan hoped can amirsquo;s sin washed up.

the friendship between hassan and amir moved me. i believe all the people who read it is going to be touched just as i am. this book does make me think the good and the bad ,whatsquo;s wrong and whatsquo;s right, the cruelty of war . few books can exert an influence on people nowadays, this book sure does.
